The Meta Model is based on a set of language patterns based on a specific set of questions used to obtain information, challenge and expand the limits of a person’s model or “map” of the world. It effectively refers to how language is used to delete, distort and generalize a person’s thinking and communication.
When a person speaks about something, they choose a specific set of words to describe their experience. The words they choose within this communication will effectively distort, generalize and delete portions of their experience.
A practitioner listens to these spoken words and works on recovering the information that is under the surface of these words.
