The Law of Control states that you feel good about yourself to the degree to which you feel that you are in control of your life. The same is of course is true in reverse.
This law directly refers to the Locus of Control. This locus of control can either be internal or external. When it is internal you personally feel that you make your own choices and decisions and therefore control the direction of your life. As such you tend to perform at your best. When it is external you feel as though outside forces are controlling your life such as people and external life pressures i.e. your health, bills, boss, etc. These forces are in one way or another controlling what you do or refrain from doing, whether you like it or not.
Taking back control always begins with controlling the thoughts that dwell in your mind.
