Hypothalamus | what is?

One of the most important functions of the Hypothalamus is the link it provides between the nervous system and the endocrine system via the pituitary gland. As such, it is responsible for the production of many of the body’s essential hormones.

These hormones effectively regulate automatic bodily responses and physiologic functions such as temperature regulation, thirst, hunger, sleep, mood, and sex drive.
