Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) | what is?

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an emotional healing process used to desensitize difficult emotional experiences. This technique evolved from Thought Field Therapy and was introduced during the 1990s by Gary Craig.

EFT has been successfully used in treating anxiety, fears, phobias, trauma, stress, grief, anger, guilt and more. It has been of value with improving performance and relationships.

EFT works on the idea that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system. The technique works by bringing these energy systems back into harmony through a process of tapping various locations of the body using your fingers. This tapping process effectively balances energy meridians that often become disrupted when we experience difficult emotions. Once these energy fields are balanced and in harmony, the experience of the emotionally charged event often dissipates to a level where it no longer has an affect on your psyche.
